I’ve dropped frozen pork pot stickers (Ling Ling brand) and frozen cheese raviolis on the soak on a buddy’s recommendation. Pot stickers I highly recommend, no to the ravioli (it falls apart and cheese contaminates the boil)

Didn’t someone try a Boston butt recently?
I don’t think it was me, but after the boil, I throw a butt in for like 30 min, and soak for 45.
It’s absolutely fantastic.
Blee dat.

Guys Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. I will try some new things this weekend assuming I can get some crawfish. I have several people working on it and hope I can find some.Anybody have a sure source near BR I'd appreciate the info. Hole In Da Wall is my go to but they are sold out. They are trying to get more and I'll check back tomorrow.

My favorite out of left field add is tamales
I always make tamales out of some deer meat every year and freeze them. Will put a few in the boil and they come out good
eta: We thaw them first, and then place them inside the pot but not fulling submerged in the water and let them steam/sit on top the hot water

put a squirrel in there once. Fyi, I don't know how long they have to stay in to be cooked because the one I bit into was bloody as hell

we occasionally do butts, but do the big whole pork loins more often. Looks like a giant whale pecker when done, but tastes fantastic.

Get a fry basket and put some fettucini noodles in it and hang it on the side of the pot down in the boiling goodness. The noodles will soak up all the spices and flavor. Once the noodles are cooked to desired tenderness dump them in a bowl and add a squeeze of lemon and top with some chopped green onions. Delicious.
