Best place I've found in the DFW metroplex is at Aw Shucks .

LINK /

The other 6 or 7 places I have tried merely boils it in water and throws seasoning on top.

Nates is fricking terrible. They dump them in an ice chest with Tony's and parsley.

Go to the original dodies (2129 Greenville, not the newer 2 story one in the 2900 block) or aw shucks, both on lower Greenville.

Dodies crawfish are good and their other food is pretty decent as well. Nates crawfish are ok but their other food sucks

Nate's crawfish and other food are fricking garbage. That place is a trash palace too.

So the small dodies is the OG? I always wondered which was which. Why did they build them so close together? I assume they also own that 504 bar?

The original is the small one in the little strip by the libertine. Zappas knows better than me why they opened the other one done the road.

Charlie, the guy the started and owns Dodie's now has one of his sons as a partner.....maybe 2 of his sons. The sons always wanted a more hip restaurant that would draw younger people so they opened Dodie's Reef about a mile up Greenville from the original Dodie's. But they sold out to their other partners in Dodies Reef after a year or so. I'm not sure why but I think there was some friction with the other partners. So when the New Big Won Chinese place next to the original Dodie's closed last year, they saw the opportunity to grab the space for the 504 grill concept. I guess they figure being next to each other would be an efficient way to manage 2 places. I haven't been to 504 but it's supposed to be more upscale and hip than Dodie's.

Bayou market on business 121 in Lewisville is legit. Guy who owns it is from the westbank.

If you want boiled the fiesta mart has them for 1.99/lb.
