Cuban rice

Not really sure what you are looking for....rice is rice...they use yellow and white...here are some recipes using both...hope this helps

I don't know exact amounts, but my buddy (who's Cuban) makes his with white rice, cumin, garlic powder, onion and black beans. Saute onion, stir in rice, add beans and spices (plus salt, depending on amount of salt in beans and stock), cover with liquid / stock, boil till craters form, cover, lower heat, cook for 15 minutes, steam for 15 minutes.

this sounds pretty good and easy; will have to give it a shot.

There's really no such thing as "Cuban Rice."

Arroz con pollo is probably what you're looking for (rice and chicken), or arroz con gandules (yellow rice with chickpeas).

What part of the island family from? Last time you went back? I still have relatives in Cienfuegos and La Habana, I pretty much stick to Habana when doing licensed visits.
