I know I'm probably pissing in the wind... but does anyone know of a place you can get boiled (not live) crawfish around D.C. I'm getting a bit home sick on Mardi Gras weekend and some boiled crawfish would probably do the trick. If theres no place, does anyone know of a decent restaraunt to get some good Louisiana cuisine?

you can get them shipped, but you have to reheat them

There is a place across from the Woodley Park-Zoo (red line) station. You can't miss it; it says crawfish on the awning.

Is the place near Woodley Park any good? That's the only lead I've got asking people around town...

When I was in PA you could get "crawfish" at some grocery stores but I would recommend using that as catfish bait.

Getting them shipped cooked and reheating them is not worth it in my opinion...they QUICKLY lose flavor and NEVER taste good to me.

The only thing you can do...is pay me and I will drive you up some lives ones It will cost a lot with the price of gase and the price of crawfish...but it would be well worth it.

Next time I go to Tony's I will ask them about shipping them live? Maybe a friend of yours can buy a sack, put them in an ice chest and ship them on a flight out from MSY. Worth looking into.

there are a couple of crawfish boil events around town hosted by ex-pats for charity. but they usually don't happen until may.

Had them boiled many years ago on Kent Narrows in Maryland. Your best bet is to check out the fish markets on Maine Avenue. If you can't find them boiled then buy live ones and do it yourself.
