Wife and I are thinking about getting rid of our conglomerate of discount pots and pans and investing in a more permanent solution.

Is copper worth the investment? If so, what brands should we look at?

To each his own, but the maintenance of copper makes it a non-starter in my book. I own a mix of enameled cast iron, All Clad, some stainless steel stock pots, and a few ceramic nonstick pans.

I was given this as a gift, it's really great. I let my youngest kid cook on it too w/ the induction NuWave we have. It's really worth the money if you buy it online with the fry basket, steaming tray, glass press, and covered lid. It cleans up easy and holds a ton of food at one time.

I have some Mauveil and Ruffoni and use them all the time. I still have plenty of other types, ceramic, cast, stainless but I buy one copper at a time.

No more trouble to upkeep than any others. It will last a lifetime. Like I said I just buy one at a time and over the years have a nice collection.
