Cut the membrane off of the back of the ribs. Season with a dry rub, then set them on a rack inside of a roasting pan filled with a cup of water and 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar. Cook in the oven for about 5-6 hours at 180 degrees. Take out of oven, put on grill to brown them up a little. Just before removing them from the grill, apply your favorite bbq sauce.

This will make fall-off-the-bone great ribs. You can experiment with rubs and ingredients but the method is solid.

Rub with mustard. Apply dry rub. Cook on grill on indirect heat at 250ish for 3 - 4 hours. Smoke with hickory chunks.

real ribs arent cooked in the oven. EVER.
use the 3-2-1 method. 3 hours on the smoker, 2 hours wrapped in foil, 1 hour back out of the foil on the smoker. marinade ahead of time without the membrane and use dry rub of your choice. throw a little sauce if you want prior to wrapping in foil.

You should try this.
Take the ribs and tub them down with a good seasoning. Then put them on the pit to seer them. Usually cook them until the blood starts coming out the ends of the vibe. Take the ribs off the pit and put them in a large aluminum pan. Fill with 1-1.5 cans of coke and cover very good with foil. Put the pan on the pit for 30-40 minutes. Take them off the pit, uncover and smother with as much BBQ sauce as your heart desires. Recover and put back on the pit for another 30 mins. Then theyre done You will want to find me and kiss me they will be so good.

Indirect heat with a smoker or Weber grill.

Remove the membrane.
On a gas grill (if charcoal is not available), slow and low using indirect heat. Minimum of at least 4 to 5 hours.
Brown sugar is your friend.

you can slow cook them in foil for 2 or 3 hours and then take off the foil to get them brown it usually comes out perfect for me.

alright i went with the oven method..they have been in the oven for about an hour now. Let them sit in the oven for about 4-5 hours then throw them on the pit for another hour?..
sorry everyone that wanted me to put them on the pit. I wanted to, but had to go the oven way this time. I figure I may be able to still savor some of the BBQ taste by browning them on the pit.

how are you going to "brown" them on the pit if they have already been in the over for 4 hours?

yes put them on the pit for about an hour using low heat.
Also, whatever liquid you have in the bottom of the roasting pan needs to be strained and then added into your sauce. Then brush this sauce onto ribs while they are on the pit.

1) Go to Academy and purchase a Brinkman
Electric Smoker (70.00)
2) Buy some Wood Chunks of your choice
3) Cut membrane off backside of ribs
4) Season as you wish
5) Fill pan up with water
6) Put 5 or 6 chunks in the bottom
7) Place ribs on top rack
8) In 4 to 5 hrs you will have perfect ribs
9) Never and I mean never cook ribs in the oven
