Anyone recall this place, and/or have any experiences that they'd like to share?

the one in Rebel shopping center? I bussed tables there for a summer in HS. Gave me money to buy beer and weed. I think Phil is now dead? He also owned a video rental store in Drusilla a while back.

I bussed tables there, but it wasn't in Rebel Shopping Center. It was in the old Ruby's off College by the railroad tracks. It was owned by the Olindes (Ralph and Kacoo), with Joey Distefano as chef.

What you wanna know, Paul?

that's right.

I'm thinking of Cipriano's, which was in rebel shopping center.

Never heard of it. I was trying to figure out what the hell you were talking about. When was it open?

Semolina's on Coursey

The 2 sisters, Jim Brown's wife and the other one had the best chicken marsala.

My wife's (then girlfriend) favorite place back in the day. Good times. Good memories.

I also used to enjoy Giamanco's on Government Street.

Almost every time I am in Metairie, I stop and grab dinner at Semolina.

No one, and I mean no one, can beat their Chicken Marsala dish.

Correct, then owned by Don Gerald, great food. Some of my favorites were crab meat salsa verde and the santa fe steak with tamale and Frangelico mousse

Giovanni's off Highland Road. Used to eat there with my GF (now my wife). Great Lasagna. Think some politicians banged a chick there and that pretty much shut them down.

Linnie's Steakhouse on Airline. Closed around 1995 for a gas station with slot machines to open in its place.

Good food and lot's of LSU football photos and memorabilia on the walls.

I moved to Louisiana in 1993 and Cipriani's was one of my first nicer restaurant experiences in BR. I loved the place. I couldn't get enough of it. We dined with senators and congressmen regularly there. I always wondered in the back of my mind if there was a connection to the mob.

I'm not sure about Giovanni's but one of the restaurants in that location Vincents Italian I heard had prostitutes working out of it.
