I'll be in New Orleans for Christmas and need some suggestions for dinner Christmas Eve and brunch Christmas morning. Will have kids but they are used to eating out and are well behaved

I do Christmas Day in New Orleans yearly, and anything worthwhile for dinner was booked 2 weeks ago. I'm sure Christmas Eve is similar.

Sorry man, just seeing this. I used OpenTable and had to book the same place I went last Christmas because everything else was taken. Looks like you can get some late brunch spots at Domenica or Luke. Early spot at Cafe Adelaide.

Ended up getting Mr Johns for dinner the 23rd, Patois for dinner the 24th, and Luke for brunch Christmas Day.

Could have had more options but I have 5 people.

Don't know if you used Open Table for those reservations, but I've found that calling the restaurants sometimes yields reservation openings which are not listed on OT. Don't know if that works for the holidays, though, but if you have some other places in mind, might be worth a call.
