I could declare JIHAD on a chinese buffet right now, but I dont want to do it alone.

Suggestions on a take out place? I live in Mid City.

Found a buddy.

Headed to Oriental Pearl off Sherwood.

If you haven't had it its the best in town for quality.

Isn't there an Oriental Pearl in Mid City? Or is it just same name, different food?

I always liked Chinese Combo King. I hear they're closing, but also that they are staying open with new management? Not sure on the latter.

9 Dragon for their daily lunch special is hard to beat. About $7 bucks for what seems like 5 days worth of food.

Totally agree. I think it's the best in town if you're not looking for a buffet. I think the Coursey Oriental Pearl is one of the best if you're looking for a buffet.

Yes.
Yes.

It's somehow related to the Coursey location, maybe family members. It had almost everything served at Coursey the last time I gave it a chance but it's utter crap. The cooks DEFINITELY are not as good Mid-City as they are at Coursey. Do not want. Go to the Coursey location.

Not close, but I like China Chef on Airline Highway at Highland Road.

Solid place. And clean. For the most part.

The small strip mall Chinese places can't be good, can they?

I'm scared to try any of them.

China Chef is the only Chinese restaurant I've ordered take out from.

Hasn't killed me. Yet.

IDK. Nine Dragon by LSU will always have a place in my heart (and stomach). And China One on Bluebonnet and Airline is pretty good.

No, it was great, but Amy Baw shut it down, and sold her other buffet place Koto on College to Derek Chang..it became his original Koto Teppan/Sushi place. Wish I had Amy Baw's ginger salad dressing recipe.

OP on Coursey is a good buffet, and as noted the Govt St location blows.

Omi, PF Chang's, Thai Kitchen, Rama, OP Coursey, Little Saigon, etc..are my Asian go-to joints..dine in or carry out.

Sushi Yama, Ichiban, Koto, Rock-N-Sake for good sushi. Sushi Masa if gonna pig out buffet style.

Love Nine Roses and Pho Tau Bay in Gretna, Pho Orchid and Cafe East in Metairie.
