Hello all, wife and I will be staying a night in Chattanooga on Thursday and I was looking for a cool place to eat. Nothing specific, just wanted some ideas. She read that Boathouse was a decent spot? What y'all got? Thanks

Sorry. I wasn't around for it. Just thought I would ask for help from some of y'all. You are welcome to keep giving this quality info though

I didn't mean to be an arse. I just feel like it was very recent.

Here is a thread on general things to do. Here and here are two restaurant-related threads (although they appear to be old). Wish I could be of more help, but I have not been there in over 10 years.

If you're looking for casual, The Blue Plate was very good. All locally harvested ingredients.

Thanks. Isn't there a river or something cool running through town? Any places to eat with a decent view?

The Tennessee River runs by downtown and there's a great walking bridge that goes over it. Take a walk over and get some ice cream at Clumpies. Chattanooga is a beautiful city.

Lupi's had good pizza, Urban Stack was a great burger place and Terminal Brewhouse had good beer and eats. But I've only been with the kids, so we had to find family friendly places.

My husband and I just moved here recently, so we are still exploring, but I can name some places we've liked. All of these are in the downtown area or close by (and in no particular order)

Alleia or Boccaccia (both Italian)
Bluewater Grille (steak/seafood)
Bluegrass Grill (great brunch)
Champy's (yummy fried chicken)
The Terminal Brewhouse (get the pot roast nachos if you go here--so good!)
Blue Plate as someone else mentioned
FoodWorks (we went for dinner, but they are supposed to have an awesome brunch as well)
Lupi's Pizza (they use fresh, local ingredients)
Big River Grille & Brewing (same owners as Gordon Biersch)

If you want a dessert spot, The Hot Chocolatier is really good (and located across the street from The Terminal).

I really like Hennen's. Steak and sides were great.

I've only been there once, but my group ate at a place called Henning's or something like that. I remember it being very good.

ETA: It is Hennen's
