I think Roberto's on River road near St. Gabriel fits that description.

wow mom, I really did not care for it when I went(did a review a while back) but it's a long way from a hole in the wall. I'll go with Anthony's and Pocorello's

I'm not sure you can call a restaurant with more than one location a hole in the wall....am I taking this too literally?

maybe so. i only ever cared for the George's under the overpass for some reason. Not like it's a national chain.

ANd i left BR before there was more than one CHelsea's....so i don't think of there as being more than one.

There is really a shortage of great hole in the walls in BR, i had to reach.

Harrington's and Christina's...but they're downtown. Still, I don't see why we should discriminate.

I like Pinetta's... only because they offer dishes that no other place offers. They really don't have many places in BR that I'd call "hole-in-the-wall".

I agree it's a dump, but I didn't expect the food to be a dump.

To me, a hole in the wall restaurant is one that is off the beaten path and the exterior of the building makes you question how you will get a good meal in something that looks like it is falling down!

I remember your review on Roberto's and only once out of many visits did my husband end up with a sub par meal there.

I know every restaurant has an off night occasionally. Ruffino's has been off the last 2 times we went.

It may be a while before we go back.

Gails Diner in praireville is a hole in the wall at its finest. Great breakfast and lunch specials for about 5 bucks.

Shameless plug....but yes that would be one.
You need to double your seating....you must get there by 11 AM or you won't get a seat....growing pains you can live with.
