Casual Dining Recs

Besides about 4 places, every restaurant in the city is now casual. I can think of 5 places where I would always wear a minimum of a tie and blazer. Galatoire's, August, Commander's, Gautreau's and Clancy's. I would to Antoine's, just have no desire to go.

Every place in town khakis or decent pants and a button down are perfectly fine attire.

Horinoya has very good sushi and is close
Borgne isn't far

What Glass said. I would also add Johnny Sanchez to the list - its on Poydras very close to the Civic.

I never get downtown at all anymore. I need to change that behavior.

Johnny Sanchez is practically next door. It's polarizing, but I like it. That new place Ursa Major is a stone's throw away as well.

Yes, glass. You do need to change your behavior. In so many ways.

Last year we walked up to Herbsaint and got a table outside before walking down to the civic theater to catch a show. Worked out pretty good.

There was a guy in shorts, tee shirt and tennis shoes at the table next to me at Clancy's Friday night

So wrong. Only during Jazz Fest is that even considered appropriate attire.
