So I went out and bought okra, chicken and andouille for a gumbo...well after doing yardwork, I am not in the mood for it...any ideas on a dish with these items that doesnt call for a roux and maybe a little more summer friendly?

Nice...think I could just throw some tomatoes in and just stew it all together?

You could brown the andouille in the skillet and then remove it, so the okra and tomatoes (I'd add onion and garlic) in those andouille juices and grease. Add a little bacon grease if need be. Return the andouille at the end to heat up.

Looks great. My grandfather used to always make stewed okra and I never cared for it really. Now that he's gone I crave it at times.

Please don't mess that okra up by adding tomatoes.

I love tomatoes and SP, but I also love okra and tomatoes overpower the okra.
