Should be able to handle every place in Galvez twice over that time period.

Dutch's out in deep Galvez is probably the only place really worth a damn. Really good steaks.

Galvez Seafood is alright, it's fried seafood....

The Hot Wok is legit, one of the best around.

Veillion's has some pretty good boudin.

There is a Leader's Fried Chicken in Far East Galvez that is pretty good as well.

Good stuff, you sound like an expert on the area.

And for the guy that said meh to Veillon's boudin, what's wrong with it?

Vellions boudin is the best we have around here but I agree it is meh, not near as good as best stop or even jerry lees, and used to be a lot better when the old man made it, but the best around here, probably due to a lack if options

Eta: his andouille is very good if you like a heavy smoke flavor, and his kitchen is spotlessly clean at all times

"Meh" is being generous. Just not good is my take on it.

Old fashioned simple greasy hamburger, depends on the shake, fries are still pretty good.

Ate there the other day. Well picked up food there and went home but yea its good. Nothing to drive across town over but the shake and fries were pretty good.
Oh and the chick at the window calls me baby!

Slight thread hijack, but can any of you locals tell me where to get a haircut around Galvez? The only place I've found was a woman's salon or out of some guy named Larry's house. I'm leaning towards Larry though.

Looking for an old fashioned barber that will use hot shaving cream and a straight edge on the back of my neck. Prairieville would be fine too.

Pretty sure Riverside Barbershop is still open on 44 in Gonzales.. Bout a 5 minute ride if there's no traffic.

Mr. Larry is awesome, he used to cut my hair all the time when I was a kid....

However, you can go to place on 44 next to Oil and Geaux as it is only 10 bucks and a bunch of younger decent eye candy, they also have an older lady who has a shop right by Nooleys which I've used

If you want old fashioned Mr. Larry may be your choice, also have Sports Clips in shopping center by Santa Fe and another place that serves liquor by Anytime on Airline (not sure if they are still open)

the old burger delight actually had a really good burger. the griffin grill, although i think it was the same family was not even close.

i don't know if the one on 42 is the same people as the one on airline or the same people as griffin grill or different people altogether but, it's probably worth a shot.

The same guy made the burgers at the one that was on Airline, then would go and make the ones at Griffin Grill.

Can't think he made them two different ways each day.

I found the burger to be about 95% the same. Very very close.

i've had them both. I used to love the burger at the airline location. went to griffin grill and was severely disappointed. it was basically a salt burger. not even close to what i would get at airline.

I'd like to add Nooley's to this list if I may.

Does the $10 get a shampoo or just a cut?

Screw the $10 bill.

What does $20 get you?
