What are some breweries/taprooms to visit? I'm looking for smaller ones in are around Lincoln Park, wicker park, Wrigleyville etc. - not interested in Goose Island.

Mikerphone recently opened their taproom. It's a trek out there, but they are probably the best brewery in the city. When I was there in October we hit Half Acre and Revolution. Revolution also has very good food.
Also hit Fountainhead (also a great bourbon selection if you're into that), Map Room, Hopleaf, and Local Option. I loved Local Option. The bartenders were really cool, super personable, and the beer selection was great. Food was pretty mediocre, but you can't have it all.

It should be noted that Pipeworks does not have a taproom or give tours. They have some coolers with beer, though.

- Half Acre (North Center / Ravenswood)
- Revolution (Avondale)
- Forbidden Root (West Town)
- Hopewell (Logan Square)
- DryHop and Corridor (Lakeview) are same owners
- Burnt City (Lincoln Park), formerly known as Atlas
- Band of Bohemia (Ravenswood)
- Begyle (North Center)
- Bitter Pops and Beermiscuous (Lakeview) are bottle shops that have tap lines, which consists of Chicagoland brews
Plenty in the suburbs, too, but seems you were most-interested in Chicago.

not interested in Goose Island.
