ok...can someone help me out with the Brash thing

is this not the same Brash that we have had in LA for a while and pretty mediocre?

the label looks the same...?

I've been very confused by all the Brash hype all of a sudden

I haven't had a brash beer until recently and I don't think they've ever left the state. They're putting out some well above average beers right now.

Have you seen any of the p-wagon in Shreveport? I am about to call brewniverse.

I know I've seen Brash bottles here in Shreveport. Did someone buy the old Brash and move it to Houston?

I've never seen a brash bottle. All I've seen is on draft and in the crowlers list buys.

Maybe they moved but I have zero knowledge on that.

Maybe list or rouge can shed some light on their history.

I do see on their website in July 2012 they were at Deep Ellun in Allston Massachusetts for their official launch party.

Then in September 2012 they were at avenue pub for the official Louisiana launch.

I do know that I've had EZ7, Pussy Wagon, Cali Green and Cortado and they were all above average and very good beers. So their story, good or bad, may be interesting, but it's going to mean very little to me personally because they're making better beer than anyone else around here.

oh I'm not hating, I have just been confused. It seems like its a completely different brewery than before. Just same name and labeling.

Yeah its seems they have relaunched or something because when I looked at the site a month ago it was years old.

Brash has been contract brewing up to now. I thought they were brewing out of Clown Shoes brewery.

Here you go

Originally, Fullelove started Brash as a contract brewing company in Massachusetts,

He credits Gregg Berman of Clown Shoes brewery with helping him get Brash off the ground by reaching out to breweries and vouching for Fullelove's commitment. "Every homebrewer wants to be a contract brewer. Gregg put his reputation on the line for me," Fullelove says

Ben owned (or was part owner) of Petrol Station in Houston and wanted to open a brewery. Texas law prohibited him as an owner of a retail establishment from also owning a brewery distributed in Texas. So he got Ipswich to contract brew for him (thus the name Texas Exile for one of their beers).

Now, he's sold his interest in Petrol Station and can own a brewery in Texas. They've ceased their contract brewing and brew solely from their Houston brewery.

thanks Bug

although that article says that Brash was "banned" from Texas?

and Petrol Station is now a brewpub? So the same guy that runs Petrol is the Brash guy?

ETA: thanks B, that clears it up

I knew that would burn your arse.

Nobody has 3 very good hoppy beers. St Arnold? No. Karbach? Haha. Buffalo bayou? Come on. 8th wonder? Not even.

Galveston island has a very solid IPA.
B52 has a really good DIPA.

Nobody is doing what brash is doing.

Sorry the guy played the system and you're butt hurt about it.

that was in reference to the "They make good beer so I don't care" statement, not in reference to the quality of their beer. I haven't tried their beer so I can't speak to the quality.

this is incorrect. Ben and Darren co-own Petrol. Ben handles beer and Darren handles food.
