Thanks for the help. I got them from the Boiling Pot on Burbank for 1.89. The outfit on North and 22 seems a little shady.

FYI - the crawfish from the boiling pot were a good size too.

I had some from LA Seafood saturday night and they were OUTSTANDING. $8.69 for 3 pounds. I wasn't expecting them to be that good...big, juicy as hell, and not doused in Tony's. Great value.

Morgan City, I got 30 sacks lined up for April 17-18 at .80/lb

They put a 20 sack limit at the docks from the crawfisherman. This way they can keep prices high for good friday and easter.

It's not. I have been buying from that guy for a couple of years. It is legit. $1.10 for small. $1.50 for larger.

that's crazy. they will buy whatever they can get their hands on. it's not the supply that keeps the price up, it's the demand.

They imposed the 20 sack limit from crawfisherman last Tuesday. It will remain in effect till easter.

The 3 crawfisherman in morgan city I talked to were complaining about it. Not sure if its just there or widespread.

Demand is high for good friday and easter and people will pay whatever.

However, the crawfish are undergoing a molting stage now so catches are less. One guy was pulling 49-54 sacks a day and now is down to about 25-30.

The global warming that is driving temperatures to record lows isn't helping catches either.
