. Are they worth the money?
Yes and if you are smart and shop around, you can find a really good deal. My wife got me the large for $600. We were going to buy another grill since our last one died and we had set aside a budget for $350 but when we found this price, the BGE has a lifetime warranty and we figured why not spend the extra money for a solid product.

2. Do you use it to cook different foods other than typical BBQ meats?
I've done everything from ribs to corn to pizza to pork chops. Grilled vegetables are fantastic, especially zucchini and squash this time of year. You can set the temp to what you want and grill it from there.

3. What is your favorite thing about the oven?
I am yet to have a bad meal cooked on this. The temp stays consistent forever. I had to smoke the biggest pork butt ever for 13 hours once and it stayed at 250 for 13 hours with little to no adjusting. Unbelievable with charcoal.

4. Do you also own a Yeti?
I think I'm in the minority and have no idea what a Yeti is. I'm assuming it is a type of cooler based on context clues.
Speaking of coolers, really cool hint for searing steaks on the BGE. Get the grill up to 700 and do aobut 2-3 minutes on each side. Take off the grill and immediately wrap in foil and put inside your cooler for 5 minutes. Perfectly cooked, every time.

Right now Kamado Joe is the better grill IMO.
Right now I would rank Kamado's as :
Komodo Kamado
2014 Kamado Joe
Primo Oval
2013 Kamado Joe and BGE
Grill Dome
Primo Large
Big Steel Keg / Bubba Keg
Saffire
Akorn
Bayou Classic

Where did you buy a large BGE for $600? And what did it come with, or without?

My wife got it on sale at Ace Hardware in Buford GA. It did not have the "nest" or a cover which she purchased as well. They put it together for her and had it delivered while I was at work. She bought charcoal and a couple accessories and the total cost with the nest and grill cover ended up being around $950-$1k.
She spent the past 9 months looking for the right deal so you just have to patient.

Okay, that's about right then. I just know dealers have a minimum price they can sell at, so that's why I was curious.

I have the Primo XL, but I will say that the komado style are worth the money. Crazy versatility to cook high temp, low temp, bake pizzas, smoke, grill, etc. Had a nice gas grill previously...will never go back.

1. No, but it was a wedding present.
2. Like other people are saying it is very versatile. You can cook steaks at 700+ degrees or close the dampers and slow cook/smoke at 225 for hours. However, I would never suggest it as your only grill/bbq pit. I have a gas Weber also that I use for grilling burgers, sausage veggies, as the egg takes too long to use for everyday use.
3. Its hard to beat for slow cooking ribs or brisket.
4. Own 2 and have several hats. I sell them, so the coolers were half price from a yearly dealer special that Yeti runs.
