Buying some Saturday but not boiling until Sunday afternoon. Is the sacks in the ice chest with ice over then and plug out the best way? Should I put anything on the bottom before I put the sacks in and also should I put a towel or burlap over the sacks before I put the ice on?

Something on the bottom will help out. Burlap sack, ice, pull drain plug and prop up the opposite of the drain.
Don't put them in a YETI, it will freeze them solid and devalue your ice chest.

Yes, burlap or a towel between the crawfish and ice. keep them wet. The ice can dry them out

In the shade with a wet towel over the sack and they will be fine.

if u buy two sacs at 12 but won't start cooking till 5, can I just let them sit in the shade with a wet towel over them?

Yep. I just take the shelves out of one side of my beer icebox in the shed and stand them up in there. I've also put two or three short 2x4's in the bottom of an ice chest, sack of crawfish on top then an unopened bag or two of ice on top. close the lid and pull the plug.

Dont drown em but keep em moist. Dont let em get too hot they will keep for a couple days easy. Many ways to do this but those are the rules do what ya can do easy.

My cousin reached in one and dug around to find a Diet Coke. Too slow. Had to amputate two fingertips damaged by frostbite.
