I’m going to Vegas at the beginning of September and wanted to see if anyone had a good recommendation for a steakhouse? Thank you!

Bazaar Meats is totally incredible in every way, but not a "traditional steakhouse" in the sense you're thinking. Still, amazing. That is where I would go, easily.

SW in the Wynn is the best on the Strip.

Hanks at the Green Valley Ranch is another great place, but about 15 mins or so off of the strip.

Jean Georges Steakhouse

I went there the other night and found it to be overrated. A5 wagyu wasn’t as good as the a4 wagyu at Vic and Anthony’s in Houston. Pretty disappointing when you consider the price.

The A5 at Baazar was the best I've had in my entire life.

Vic and Anthony's in the Golden Nugget is pretty good

Haven't been to that one, but I really like Hugo's Cellar in the 4 Queens.

Strip steak was very good, I even had delmonicas and it was very good and prices reasonable.

I forgot the other I ate at maybe cut. It was good also. That a4 wagyu from Vic and Anthony’s was the best I’ve ever had though. Price was reasonable also.

Hugo's Cellar is my favorite restaurant in Vegas. It's just old school Vegas.

For a change of pace from a regular steakhouse I like Echo and Rig in Sommerlin.

Circus Circus

My first time in Vegas was in something like 1982 when my family took a vacation out west and I was a young teen. We stayed in the RV park at Circus Circus for a couple days. I wasn’t allowed in the casino other than passing through to go upstairs to the circus. From there you could look down at the casino. Nobody in my family who was old enough to gamble was a gambler. But that was about as close to a family experience as you could have in Vegas at the time.

They had an all-you-can-eat buffet that included beautiful pink, juicy prime rib and it only cost $4.99 per person. That was at the tail end of the era where they sold good food dirt cheap just to keep you from leaving the casino.

Years later I was there meeting up with some friends and we were waiting in a bar for them to come down from their room. I decided to play video poker just so I could have a few drinks for free. So I just played a quarter at a time. Then I hit my first royal flush. That’s when I learned that you ALWAYS play max credits on video poker.

Live and learn.
