Bistro to Geaux

I actually love Superior even though it's the famous, touristy, over-priced, over- crowded place the locals aren't supposed to like. There is a reason it's that popular.

Dang no love for Cush's yet?
Jacquelyn's for clam chowder.
Julie Ann's has a Bosnian/Serbian delicacy called Cevapcici that is definitely worth trying- get the roasted potatoes on the side. The other stuff on the menu is really good, too. Save room for dessert.
Pita de Novo for Greek
Danh's Garden & Noodle House for pho and Thai
Poboy Express for a good sandwich

The new owner should do well at the old Real Pickle location- I never found the service to be all that great, but it was way worse once Monsour sold it. I have high hopes for the new restaurant.

Kim's Seafood in Bossier City

Probably the best shrimp and soft shelled crab poboys in Bossier. They get their French bread from New Orleans. They were originally in the New Orleans area but were displaced to Bossier by Katrina.

NVM, your're from Crowley. You can get all of that that you would want down there.

you can't put a monjunis on a bossier list before l'italiano. that's ludicrous

I like Mabry House. Just wasn't sure if it's a place for a guy most likely here for work to try.

I can't understand how this place gets so much love. I know people who have stories of having been served food with mold on it here before. Absolutely will never eat there after my last meal there a couple of years ago.

Couldn't have happened soon enough. I'm assuming all those upset by the news haven't been in the last couple of years.

The last 2 times I went, it took nearly 45 minutes for a sandwich, and it was wrong both times. The last time, a gentleman standing next to the counter waiting on a take-out order said the same thing and walked out with no food.

They are down to like 1 waitress at all times, so you never get more than your initial drink - while they have an impressive beer menu, they were "out" of like the first 6 beers I asked for last time.

The food quality seemed to deteriorate over the last couple of years as well - hated to see it, b/c I did really enjoy it back in the day.

But to add something of substance to the thread (without repeating some of the excellent suggestions so far):

Sushi Gen for rolls
Sake Sushi for actual sushi/sashimi
Asian Deli in Bossier for great Banh Mi (though Pho Lamour in Shreveporthas a very good one as well)
W's to sit in the bar and have a drink/appetizer
Superior Steakhouse is the best upscale bar to hang in
2John's in Bossier for the best upscale steakhouse
Marisco's La Jaibita for some authentic Mexican - you'll be the only English speaker in there, including your waitress

I also like Superior for Tex Mex, even though most locals scoff at it - food is pretty good, but heavy - and you will smell like the food for the rest of the day - but good happy hour and live music.

Damn, mexican food is expensive in Bossier. We used to go to the taquerias because they were cheaper than the Papasita's of the world. I think everything on the menu you linked is more expensive than Romero's - which has some damn good mexican food and margaritas.

Cush's
Fertitta's
El Mariachi (the new one in Haughton is the best)
Strawn's on Kings Highway by Centenary
Marilyn's Place
Daq's Wings & Grill
Superior Grill (the original location)

Sadly, the best Italian restaurants have all closed: Brocato's, Sansone's, etc.

Silver Star in Bossier is my favorite. Great atmosphere too. Superior is an obvious one. Oyster Bar is another place to try if you've never been.

Marilyn's Place and Rollin in the Dough have a more mom and pop feel but are legit.

And in Bossier, for a great Chinese lunch, go to the Lucky Palace.

Order the Chilean Sea Bass. Not on the menu but it is top notch.

It's the only place I found that could actually compete with Houston's best tex-mex. I guess you prefer Nicky's or TaMolly's.

It's not bad but the last time I was there they have flies buzzing around...f that noise. I actually prefer El Jimador right down the street.
