How are you such an expert on rooms in the same town you live in?? Just go home!

how is corporate boulevarde area is that too far away from things and relatively nice?
Corporate will be just fine. Have dinner at Mansur's one night. The much talked about Beausoleil and City Pork are both just down the street as well.
Drinks at Corporate Brew & Draft. Avoid Pelican House like the plague.

Yeah I think I will book around corporate, a lot less pricier. I'll be in contact with the hotel to see if any travel options otherwise I'll definitely give what you said a go and find a shuttle service.
Thanks again for the help

Beausoleil and City Pork II are great restaurants and real close to Corporate. Another favorite is Albasha, a local Greek/Lebanese place on Corporate...it's a little less expensive than those places, so you might want to stop in for lunch. Dearman's is an old school hamburger joint in the same shopping center as Beausoleil. Velvet Cactus is a new Mexican joint nearby -- the food sucks, but it has a great atmosphere. (I imagine it would be hopping there the weekend of LSU-Florida)

Stay in NOLA, drive in for the game. Seriously.

Holiday Inn Express
Check the Holiday INN Express Downtown BR. The hotel isn't open yet so it probably doesn't show up on larger search engines (hotels.com, etc...), but they should be open well before October and are taking reservations on their own site.

If everywhere downtown is booked, you will be fine staying in the corporate/college area. Just Uber everywhere.
Friday night before the game you can do Pelican House or Bulldog. Pelican House normally has a band on Fridays, and can be fun the day before gamedays. Corporate Brew and Draft and the Cove are cool (and everyone here will recommend it for you), but thats because they are more chill places (most of the posters here are late 20s and up) and I would imagine y'all would want something more exciting if y'all are closer to the 21-27 age.
On Saturday, you should go to the Chimes on campus in the morning. If its a 2:30 game you need to get there as soon as it opens, but if its a night game I would still recommend going early. Tailgate all day. After the win I would probably recommend going downtown if I were you. Maybe chill somewhere for a little while to let traffic die down a little unless you want your Uber ride to cost a shite ton. But at the same time, bars close at 2am so you don't want to wait too long. L'auberge is open 24/7 though so if you are into gambling and don't care about a long arse Uber ride then live it up!
What is your connection to LSU? Why are y'all coming? Just curious

Yeah early 20s crowd would be good, but then again just wanna experience the whole game weekend game atmosphere so wherever the crowd is that's where I would like to be.
What is the chimes I haven't heard anything about that?
I always followed saints in the NFL so once I heard more about college i stated watching LSU (2010) and now ever since Ive just love how patriotic and passionate everyone is about it. It's unheard of here in Australia. The atmosphere looks insane so I can't wait to experience it. And to have a few Aussies involved in the football and basketball there is a bonus

Remember, it'll probably be a night game so no need to show up to campus before 8am or so...

If it is a night game what would ideally be a day schedule if you plan on drinking very early and tailgating
Posted on 6/18/15 at 7:34 pm to Aussietigerfan
they have had some very good suggestions in here. have you booked the hotel yet?
early 20s crew. are you looking for drunk and rowdy college bar or maybe a post college crowd for the bars?
on gameday, i think walkons right next to campus is a great place for drinks and meeting random people. im assuming yall have accents. the LA girls are going to eat that shite up around walkons and the tailgates around there. just be ready for a lot of douchebag guys that will hate on you if the girls start flocking around yall. i think nicholson ave between burbank and stadium drive is party central and have a lot of younger people tailgates. across the street from there also. avoid the parade grounds if that has been suggested.
depending on the time of the game, tailgating plans and atmosphere will vary greatly. 2:30 game will be somewhat mild unless the teams are both highly ranked. 6-7pm game will be rowdy because of the amount of time you have to drink and party.
bulldog the night before will be good for the game. also downtown on 3rd street will be packed. 3rd street might be the best bet because of the amount of bars within walking distance. after the game on saturday, i gotta say its tigerland. first, because its fun and out of control after a good game. second, because transportation anywhere else will be next to impossible

Restaurant on the north gates of campus that has been there forever. Basically a staple for all LSU grads. Good food and an even better beer selection. Serves food late on weekends.
To be honest, if it were a day game, dont go there. I wouldnt want to waste too much time being at CHimes for a 2:30 game.
Plenty of this depends on where your hotel is and gsme time whethr it be a night or day game

If wanting to be closer, there is a Staybridge Suites right next to Walk-Ons and Tiger Stadium that will probably command rate.
Have you called this place? This would be the ideal hotel in my opinion

I've booked on booking.com on corporate boulevarde so it's free cancellation if I find something more downtown with reasonable pricing. Yeah just looking for a crowded joint and yeah girls would be a bonus. Will keep those places in mind for tailgating. Downtown will be a definite on Friday. Tigerland sounds good I've heard bogies is pretty good too after a game??
I think I might have to start making annual visits to see all these places

yea bogies should be very good after the game. its right next to tigerland and walking distance to the stadium. they will probably have a tent with band and/or djs.
lots of hot arse there also. i would say that bar is #1 of all the nearby bars when it comes to that.

Some solid advice in this thread; all of the places suggested are decent. One small warning if you wander north of campus and you find yourself on a street named after a President, a flower, or a state--be very cautious. There are some not-so-safe areas between LSU and downtown.
Hope y'all have a great time!
