Tracey's is great for watching sports sometimes. But both the beer selection and whiskey selection are complete shite. Pretty lame regular crowd too. Kinda druggy.

Rusty Nail ain't bad. I'm not a fan of the proximity to the expressway, but it's not too overpowering. Avenue Pub is always a good option, especially if it's not too hot and they have the windows open. Delachaise opens mid afternoon on the weekends and has a nice patio out front. If you're at Delachaise, then you might as well hit up Columns for a cocktail. Both Bulldogs are good day spots on the patios, but inside gets too dark and smoky for me.

Pat O's and Lucy's aren't really my type of places, but if that's your thing then don't let me stop you.

No kidding. Place is gloomy and sketchy. If I'm day drinking, I need a patio, not a seedy joint where there are drug dealers operating in plain view by the bathroom. Food is pretty good though.

Still, give me Rusty Nail or Avenue.

Avenue pub is gloomier then Traceys. I've never heard of a bar with 20ft ceilings and huge windows labeled as gloomy, especially when we are talking about drinking during the day.

And ive never seen a drug deal go down at Tracey's.

I like to sit out by the door with a po boy and a beer and people watch.

I love the Rusty Nail but it has no atmosphere. This guy sounds like he may be going by himself. He'll be bored out of his mind there.

Tracey's is pretty lame. I say that even though like the owner and one of the bartenders is a close friend. It's beer selection is shitty even for a non-maven like myself and the food is barely acceptable as bar food. The location and space could be so much better. It's really too bad.

Avenue Pub, Bulldog, Vous, Finns's and a dozen places in the Quarter are better choices, IMO.
