I don't go Chili's often, but when I do, I order the steak fajitas.

If people knew the history of ninfas they would understand

There is only 1 real ninfas and that's in downtown Houston and its amazing. It's the original mamma ninfas

Company was bought by investors and they started their own ninfas including BR. Totally different

True story. When we moved to Houston after Katrina, I saw a Ninfa's near my work, and I was like... ooh... I wonder if it's like the one in Baton Rouge! My new co-worker, in the car with me (a rare Houston local who was actually from Houston), just about knocked my head off. I got an earful of history and the next day we went to Mama Ninfas. And yes, there is no comparison.

Admittedly I have been afraid to try fajitas at most places in BR, but I've found the ones at Las Palmas in Dutchtown to be pretty ok.

La Morenita

Yeah, where is this?

Only two mexican places I will go to here now in town are La Tiendita and El Limon. If this place is better than Tiendita I want to know where it is.

La Morenita is a large Mexican Grocery store on the corner of Woodale and Florida behind McDonalds and next to Office Depot. They have a fantastic little café in it that is very authentic and is a fun place to shop after you get done.

It's la tiendita. Idk if they do fajitas, but I'm sure they do. As far asmMexican goes in BR, you can't beat la tiendita

Thanks to this thread, I had lunch at La Tiendita today for the first time while passing through BR. Coworker and I tried 5 different tacos and the tamales. Everything was perfectly simple and delicious.
