Will be making a road trip from Anaheim to San Diego and wanted to make a few brewery pit stops along the way. Which ones should I hit up?

Not many along the way. However, on the north side of San Diego, there is Stone, Ballast Point, Alesmith, and Green Flash all near each other. We were able to hit them all in a day.

There are hundreds to choose from. What style of beer do you prefer?

Ha, wife and I are fairly beer maven-esque, so we are open to anything. Looking for a few can't miss spots. We are definitely open to driving a bit out of the way (i.e. Green Flash area)

Then I recommend the big ones in SD like Stone, BP, and Green Flash. The Bruery is in Anaheim, but I haven't been there. Lost Abbey/Port is near Stone and had a nice selection.

Def hit Pizza Port Brew Pub. They have a few locations; one in San Clemente which is about 15-20 minutes from Anaheim on the 5. The original is in Solana Beach near San Diego.....and I wouldn't call a drive from Anaheim to San Diego a road trip. Its about an hours drive on a super freeway. I used to make that drive a couple times a week when I worked out there. It's pretty boring.

Pizza Port does a good job updating each location's tap list so be sure to check their website
We almost always go to Solana Beach when we go out there
Zappa is right though, there isn't much worth stopping for along your route

Appreciate the feedback. This is part of our vacation - driving from Disneyland to San Diego (where we will be posted up for 3-4 days). Looks like our best bet is to hit the Greenflash-Stone-Ballast Point area when we get there.

If you are interested in modernist architecture, the Jonas Saulk Institute in La Jolla is a must see. It is one of the great buildings of the 20th century designed by Louis Kahn. It may be too minimalist for the casual observer though.

Think in the Little Italy area. Going to catch a Padres game, Midway Museum, head to either La Jolla/Mission Beach for a day...otherwise we are kinda open and taking it slow. Anything else we should check out?

I enjoyed Mission Brewing, and you can go over to Coronado Island and the brewery there, and Monkey Paw had some good stuff, you'll be close to there. Hamilton's is basically on the other side of the Zoo/Balboa Park. It's good too.
