Showed up at 10:30 and lines were already 50-100 deep everywhere. Waited in one line for 45 minutes and didn't feel like waiting in another line.

Overall unless it was in a bigger location with more vendors I would not be back. Was a great day as not too hot and a nice breeze.

Sounds like NOLA has been seriously botching some deep fried festivals lately

Everything sounded great but no way I'm standing in a line for almost an hour. The beer tent had a line of 3

Lafayette Square is not an ideal setup for things like this. Should've had it out on the riverfront where part of FQ Fest is.

Let's hope they can change things up and change venues to make it worth it next year.
Both this one and the fried chicken festival were brand new I think. Sometimes it takes a while to work things out. Seems like it took the po-boy fest a good three years to fix their problems.

Just go to October fest in Kenner. They haven't been too crazy the last few years.

Just like all free specialty food festivals from Brunch Fest to Fried Chicken Fest to Beignet Fest.

Venue and design are terrible resulting in poor crowd control and long lines. These festivals would benefit from larger venues and charging admission.

Well you had to buy tickets which helped in form of people needing to make change. That wasn't the issue, had each vendor had 2 tents on each side of the park it would have been fine.

I wonder why they didn't move it after the mess that was Fried Chicken Fest in the same space.

I walked over around 10:15. Checked places to get an idea of how many tickets I might need. Looked at ticket line. Looked back at lines for places I was interested in. Walked back home and made a lunch reservation at Windsor Court.

I was out there at 11. I didn't wait more than 15 mins a line. That includes the ticket line. Went to 4 different tents. All y'all are just impatient. Everything was amazing taste wise.

I doubt since I stood in line for the crab stuffed Beignet and waited almost an hour. The only short lines were for gluten free, beer, mixed drinks, water/cokes, and the one with poboy Beignet.

Glad it's not this way for Boudin Cookoff in Lafayette. The layout is great, crowd manageable and you have samplings of boudin from all across Acadiana.

Looking forward to it, Oct 22nd.

They need to just combine beignet and chicken fest and do it at City Park or Mardi Gras world.

I was looking forward to this one in truth. Thought maybe because of fried chicken fest they would have learned, they didn't.
