If Gumbo doesn't count its turtle soup. Most gumbos would still fall behind my turtle soup.

Why would you think beyond gumbo for this auspicious occasion?

Mawmaw's shrimp and corn soup wins out by a slight margin over mom's deer roast and veggie soup.

I love taco soup. I add zucchini to mine to give it a little more substance. Topped with a few chips, sour cream and cheese.

And it takes about 45 minutes to cook, which is nice

Campfire Soup

Pretty much a bunch of root vegetables, aromatics, chicken stock, and hickory smoked conecuh sausage.
