Going to DFW for a wedding this upcoming weekend, and some of the other guests who are local want us to go to Babe's Chicken on Thurs night.

How it this place? Looks like family style? I generally don't like to eat things when traveling that I can eat home, and you can get fried chicken everywhere. Is it worth it?

I do have two kids that will be with me if that makes a difference.

Also, since it appears to be family style, is it a pay per person place, or you just order whatever you want?

ETA: What's some good local beers I should be looking for when in DFW?

Babe's is good but overrated in my opinion. At the end of the day it's still just fried chicken. Be prepared for a wait depending on when you go.

As far as beers the big locals are Rhar, Martin House, Panther Island, Revolver, and Deep Ellum just to name a few. My list favors the FW breweries so Dallas folks chime in. Rhar has a session ale out right now called the USS Fort Worth that is really good.

Babe's is solid. Not going to wow you but will be a good meal. I'm pretty sure it's pay per person.

Babes is good and will probably be crowded.

As far as local brews, I enjoy Community and Deep Ellum Brewing. Both of their IPA's are solid.

I had those 2 9 percenters to finish off last night. I weaved all the way home. Luckily we were on foot.

You like the Lakewood IPA's? I've been very disappointed with both of those.

I haven't had Hop Trapp, but I thought Troll Toll was kind of disappointing. And hopochondria is straight up terrible.

I love all the variations of temptress, but the IPA's I've tried have let me down.

I had Babe's the other day for the first time.

I ate solo and ate all the chicken and most of the sides.

The waitress was impressed.
