My wife is taking me to the Oregon Gardens, where they are having a brew festival. If any of you folks are going to be in the Portland Area, it is kind of cool. The Oregon Gardens is 80 acres of gardens of various kinds.
Cost for the Brewfest is $15 and includes a glass, 5 drink tickets, and access to the garden grounds. There will be lots of food vendors and bands playing from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. I think a ticket to get into the garden is $14 by itself, so this is a bargain. The nice thing is that there will be plenty of room to roam around, so you don't have to fight the crowds while enjoying your beer.
This festival is NOT for whale hunters. It's laid back, outdoors, and right in my wheelhouse, quite frankly. The gardens make it a good experience for my DD (wife).
The brewer list is pretty average for around here, but there will be 60 brewers with 2 beers each. There will definitely be some beers I haven't tried there, and some beers that I have tried and won't mind having again.
I know there are some folks on this board who will be in Portland vacationing in the near future, or may be doing so next year. So if you are interested, here you go.

Anybody else doing anything interesting for Father's Day?
ETA: Mine is mostly drink related.

Is that name or subtle brag on breast size?
Also it is Fathers Day-where are the kids while mommy and daddy are boozing it up?
My daughter is cooking and it is a surprise. I'm cleaning the barn.

I'm serving my homebrew at a beer fest Saturday evening. It's gonna be hot as balls, but at least it'll be at a beautiful plantation, so my DD can stroll around the gardens.
So there's that.
So there's that.

That sounds like fun, except for the hot as balls part.
I enjoy beer festivals that are in places like that, where you can get away from the crowd a bit.

My wife is leaving to go to some concert in Dallas this weekend with the girls. Not only is it Father's Day weekend, it is also my bday Saturday (feel free to ridicule my wife now).
So since it will just be me and the daughter, I think I'll make a blackberry tart and eat that and a couple of scoops vanilla ice cream all day. I think the kid will appreciate that.
And I'll probably buy a giant ribeye for myself for dinner.

And a filet for the wife. And lots of bourbon will be drank. My mint is taking over the garden so I think I'll pound mint juleps.

B - What will it take to get some RM beer to the PNW? I know the brewer is supposed to be an inflexible a-hole, but I thought you might know him well enough to grease the skids...

I'll have a talk with him and see what he can do.

Yes I am. Boiling the last crawfish of the season and the first crabs of the season. Of course all the while over indulging in adult beverages. My kids are grown men so they indulge with me.

I'll be at Nottoway drinking some of Bmoneys home brew! Sunday I planned on chilling with my old man. Smoke some butts on the green egg and watch the US open.

New micro brewery in Webster called The Saloon Door. Might go check it out and try a flight to see what they've got. My birthday (65) is Saturday but I haven't made up my mind on a restaurant yet.
