I know the guy who does the gin for Costco. Its D.C. Flynt. He lives in Lake Charles and all his kids went to LSU and they are huge LSU football fans. He also does a lot of their Kirkland Signature wines. From what I have tasted they are all great. He is an interesting guy and a Wine Master or Master of Wine or something like that. He has explained it to me a couple times but I can never understand how it works.

I haven't been disappointed yet, other than the bourbon

Don't they have 2 types of Vodka? A cheap one and a good one?

I like their tequila. The bourbon was ok.

I have to agree that their 18 year sherry finished single malt scotch was phenomenal. From what I had read it seemed to basically be Macallan 18 finished in a Sherry cask.

My only problem is that it is no longer there. When I asked one of the guys working in that department, he said it was a one time thing. I wish I would have bought a couple extra.

They have similar offerings most years. Not always Mcallan, but high end. I got a 20 year-old Speyside a few years ago. The problem with these one-offs is that they get them in and they go quickly.

Costco in Oregon doesn't sell liquor. Only beer and wine. Since Costco started in Kirkland, WA, we have a lot of stores here, though. There are 3 Costcos within 6-7 miles of me. One of them is less than a mile from my house. That is a good thing and a bad thing...

Their vodka, tequila, and bourbon are all well above average.

This happens to us as well. I stop by for gas, leave with 2 briskets and a recliner.

Everytime I go to damn Costco, we are going there for like just Liquor or chlorine or something.

I walk out with a selfopening garbage can, a giant bag of popcorn etc etc

On the upside, we restocked all of our tailgating liquor and got two huge pork bellies that hit the smoker for under $200. We will be stocking up on brisket and the like this weekend for next weekend's game. You can't beat thier price for a Prime whole packer brisket.
