Well i've been to a Spanish Pop-up in NOLA put on by a white chef and it was very good. He was not spanish of origin in any way.

i mean, for a city as diverse as houston is, why waste your time at the tried and trues like reef and others.

glad he hit up the international spots during his visit.

I agree. Highlighting some of the many great local, neighborhood ethnic spots is always good.

The "no white chefs" thing to avoid big name spots is dumb though. Two of the most acclaimed chefs in Houston aren't white. (Justin Yu and Hugo Ortega). Just say you want some off the grid, diverse spots.

Which is exactly the reason that particular episode was as it was. Showing some of the differing cultures that people in the rest of the country might not know about that exist in Houston.
