I have always pulled the crawfish and then boiled the shrimp separate. How are they if I add the shrimp when I kill the fire for the crawfish to soak?

As soon as I kill the fire I drop shrimp. I soak around 20-22 minutes.

Appreciate it.

(I’m in Tx) The neighbors bought everything and asked if I would cook them. The shrimp are the jumbos. 20 minutes and they taste good? Not over cooked?

Same, anytime I've boiled shrimp w/crawfish, soon as I cutoff the burner, I put the shrimp in for about 20 mins.

I wait 10 minutes after I cut the fire and then add the shrimp. Otherwise they will be overcooked

Probably cooked in 10, need to soak longer to get the seasoning. When they are seasoned enough, they are good to go. Nothing worse than overcooked shrimps.

When the crawfish are done I scoop some of the water out of the boil pot and put put it in a stock pot and boil the shrimp on the stove.

I put them in a sack and do as above. I’ll pull them early if they are done before the crawfish. I don’t bring back to boil my crawfish. I let them poach longer to cook giving them a longer soak time.

10? More like 2-3 if you throw in right after fire is cutoff. I let it cool a bit before throwing in

I throw them in about a minute or two before I cut the heat. I use a homemade boil boss rig to cool the pot down so I want to make sure they are cooked before cutting the heat and soak at 150 or lower. Works great, never any issues with overcooking. I also use 10/15 shrimp so the smaller you go you may need to adjust down the cooking time.
