I've had Taylor Grocery. It was good, but I was lit.

This is what I'm talkin about Otis, this is the batter texture I'm after:

I have been to 11 of the 16 listed and must say it is a pretty good list though opinions may vary.

That does look just right.

Back in my many, many years in Stark Vegas, the predominant "quick stop" chain of stores was called B- Quick. There were several in town, most open 24/7. Every damn one of them served fried chicken 24/7....and it was damn good.

Now when I got to LSU, and the old grocery on Nicholson sold boiled crab in season...I thought I was in Nirvana, and didn't miss my chicken so much.

There is a place in Utica by my baw's hunting camp that had the best fried chicken I've ever had. In a convenience, pick-a-pack type place. When he wakes up and finishes beating his wife and kids I'll ask him the name. You may have heard of it.

Either the b-quick or house of death late night after cheap pitchers at the Landing then Ralph's. Damn man that brings out some old memories.

There it is.

Also, these people should have added Wilson's to the list. That place is a treasure.

Their sauce is the boss.

For Gods sake. Shaggys?

Does anyone know the status of Old Cuevas after that fire? Now that was a gem.
