DDH is not a ploy. 4X might be a waste of hops on their end but I'm sure that cost is passed on to the consumer.

I'm sure the brewers on the board can discuss when dry hopping becomes excessive and a waste of hops. I have no idea on that subject.

Hmmm... need to try 4XDH Envie to be sure.
I would guess that at this point their returns on hops added are diminishing greatly... just a guess though. I don't know what the saturation point is.

Actually the more hops you dry hop with, the more hop oils that will be extracted, ultimately creating more juice.

Sure, but at what point is that no longer making the beer better? Or at least not making it enough better to justify all the hops and hop loss?

I've had a few great beers from Brew Gentlemen where they took a double dry hop and doubled that lol. It was a noticeable addition to flavor and overall juiciness.
That still doesn't answer your question because I'm not too positive as to what point it becomes pointless.
