Perfect Pig is great. I ate there a bunch I times last time I was down there. Get the fried egg sandwich with brown sugar bacon. It is amazing.

Gotta be honest, the last 2 times we have gone to cafe 30a it has been below average.

Cafe tango is a very nice, quaint place that I'd highly recommend. For casual lunch we make it a point to get a fried grouper sandwich at the Seagrove Market (their burgers are good too). If you feel like driving down to Alys/Rosemary areas I'd highly recommend George's and Cuvée 30a.

Love grouper but wanted to share this inside tip. If you ever have the chance to eat grouper throat, do so. Most seafood markets do not sell it because it's really hard to get the meat out without destroying the product unless you have some experience. But the grouper throat is a treat that must be tried.

We had a middle eastern guy take all our grouper carcasses at the marina for this

Cafe 30A is always good IMO, but it's not one of my favorites. The most overrated older spot for me is Bud and Alleys.

Seagrove Market is a good recommendation a lot of people might otherwise miss.

we made the mistake of eating in the 5-6PM time slot where entrees are buy one get one free. service was rushed. food was good, not great. waiter would not substitute a side for one of my kids because we were "eating during the happy hour".

tough to beat having a cocktail at sunset up top. i agree that the food is average at best.

My last couple times to RedBar have been sort of disappointing. The food is great and I enjoy eating it, but the whole experience was off. Because it's so popular and the wait is so long, and the fact that there are only 5-6 entrée options, it felt like we rushed in, thrown some food at us, and rushed out

Don't get me wrong, the food is great but the dining experience of sitting down, having a couple of drinks, chatting over food, etc wasn't there because the rush in/out.

Just my thoughts

That's why I put it down so far on my list. We, honestly, haven't gone to the Red Bar on our last 2-3 trips down there. It's just too much hassle with which to deal (especially because we usually have a large group). I did include it, though, because it's iconic. It's still high quality, but it's just such a freaking circus. Great Southern is bad enough. The Red Bar is just ridiculous.

Oh. Cocoon's Fine Foods is also worth checking out, specifically if you're looking for some dips and such to take back to your house and have for happy hour/snacks.

we usually eat out at lunch to avoid the chaos at night on 30a of long waits for a table. Much rather have a decent lunch, then make a trip to the seafood market or Publix and grill out in the evening while everyone winds down from a day at the beach with the blender working overtime.

Seagrove market for lunch is a standard go to.
Great Southern for their oysters and happy hour is another spot we frequent.

Warning: Stinky's is a cluster frick from 5 to 8pm. Valet parking 'only' with a line that's 200 yards long out on the highway which is a 30 minute wait right there. Then you got another hour wait to be seated (but they tell you 20 minutes). Save the headache, go to the bait shop next door and order appetizers and cold beer.

Depending on the time of day, Southern is a long wait too, but the beer is cold. And you swear you're an extra in the Truman Show movie!
