Why is that?
I would say it is perfectly normal to enjoy something without knowing some of the facts behind it.
I haven't had a BMC or equivalent in months. I drink local craft beers when I am out of town. I go to breweries from time to time.
I didn't know some of the things on the list.

I don't know. If you love something it would seem to me you would want to know at least the basics behind it.

I hear you, but some people just like the taste.
I guess "love" is a relative term. I'm interested in the facts, but much of what I have learned about beer is not retained because I don't care enough to retain it. Doesn't mean I don't "love" craft beer.
My enjoyment was not tainted by not knowing there are only two "types" and many "styles." Now I know.
edit: I love a good cigar and a glass of scotch by the fire pit. What I don't know about cigars and scotch would fill volumes.
