Normally you can park a truck under this shooting house.

Normally the place looks like this

Normally the inside looks like this

The deer will be back as soon as the water goes down and I'm sure it'll be better than ever eventually but it's still tough to see.

I flew over it last weekend and its really something to see. Got some friends with a camp across old river from there and they're in the same situation! Have some other friends that hunt inside the levee about 30 miles north. None of them are looking forward to hunting season this year much. Good luck hope it all works out!

I have family on the wildlife refuge or whatever it is out there. Next to old river and catahoula like. They are flooded from backwater as well. It's so sad

Where did u get these pics. I used to work for Mr. B and spent many days out there planting trees and filming bucks. It's beautiful out there. I'll bet Nancy was pissed that happened.

Doesn't Giles Island Flood pretty much every year or every year Natchez crests above the flood stage? Or are the buildings usually not this flooded?

I remember fishing in old river as a kid, and passing all of their street signs in the boat.

Our thoughs and prayers are with all that are flooded. We are in Avoyelless Parish. I have camp on Spring Bayou that is for sale, but water is making pepole wait it out. Water is up but no flood problems.

They got passed on to me b/c I've hunted there a few times.
The only building that's not flooded is tree tops.
I've spent many nights out there watching the deer feed in the sanctuary.

And yeah, the island floods for sure, but not like that. That building with the red roof has got to be 8-10' feet off the ground in the front.

Cool, I agree. A good 8' off the ground. Which way do u come in? Boat with the flying carp or the long traill off of the levee?

I too have spent many nights out there and its paradise.

The place is gorgeous. And they have a few shooting houses like that, but most of it is hanging on the side of a tree in the swamp.
Now if you check out their website with pics of the accomedations you'll be back at the same opinion again.

Yeah, I'm sure they make too much money anyway.
