Assuming Peterson/Foster off the board?

Rice, Martin, Charles, Spiller, and McCoy are all attractive options

I'm leaning Rice or Charles....
Charles scares me due to injury but in Reid's system I think he could be be a 1400/10TD back with 50 catches and another 5 TD

If Foster is there things could change even with him missing time

I would take Charles over Rice, but consider Charles has never rushed for more than 7 TDs in a season or caught more than 45 passes in a season.

That can change with Reid, but I wouldn't expect 15 TDs total. He has 24 in his career.

Rice and reap the rewards of the most consistent back in fantasy the past 5 seasons.

probably right but I can dream.... I'm sure he can hit the 10 rushing if he stays healthy and I would love to see him more involved in passing game because of his game changing ability

McCoy scored 20 total TDs in 2011. That should give you hope. Unfortunately it was an outlier as his best TD total other than 2011 was 9 TDs.

But 2011 was the return of Vick correct?
I think the with Smith liking to check down and him being more dynamic than Gore he sees more receptions. I think Moeki/Fasano could surprise as well with them

Rice and Charles are my two main choices.... Foster if he is there (could happen) would be no brainer at 3.

I like Martin but I dunno if I want to pull the trigger at 3

2010 was Vick's 12 game domination.

FWIW, my top 3 in PPR are AP, Martin and Charles - not necessarily in that order. It may be blasphemy, but I think both Martin and Charles could outscore AP this year.

Martin just scares me for some reason
May be because majority of his points came in a handful of games. He topped 100 yards 5 times, scored 11 touchdowns (6 in 2 games) but he did have 49 catches

Go with your gut. You don't want to be talked out of picking someone you want and regret it later.

Rice is easily the more consistent back. He's outscored Charles in PPR every year except in 2010 and even then it was close.

Charles bring more upside though since his talents may actually be used with Reid at the helm.

I just see that between Reid's offensive past, Charles ability, and Alex Smith being a check down bitch, that Charles is going to be beastly in PPR

Certainly not as safe of a pick as Rice, but higher potential IMO

Yes, his huge outlier game could be cause for concern. 251 yards/4 TDs.

But he will only be in his 2nd year, has no competition on a run oriented team, could get his guards back (Nicks toe) and in all reality, he didn't hit stride his rookie year until 6 games in. 1st 5 games, 1 rushing TD, 0 100 yard games.

Next 11 games (incl outlier), 10 rushing TDs, 5 100+ yard games. Plus, as you said, 49 recs on the year.
