Our draft is later in the week and have had zero time to study. Just plan on shooting from the hip and picking best player on the board when I am up, but I do not want to be heavy on a certain position and light on the other. We have a 16 round draft and roster is QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, FLEX, D/ST, K

Here is NFL.coms advise:

Buddy that advise is a year old and completely worthless. Positional values have already greatly transformed since last year.

Resigning yourself to a specific position in any round is setting yourself up for failure.

The only strategy I look for is trying to fill my starting roster before going to the bench, if possible (Except for K/DST). For example, WR is usually deep, so I don't want to get 4WR before getting my 2nd RB. I would also prefer to get a TE before I get 4WR and 4RB, but you have to let the draft come to you. If Gronk somehow falls to the fourth round, snag him.

My only strategy this year is to not reach on RBs. So many "meh" RBs being taken in the first 3 rounds this year. I'll load up on WRs and make a trade if necessary, but I'm not wasting a 3rd round pick on a guy who's only marginally more productive than someone I can get in the 7th or 8th.

i agree, it's almost impossible to be confident in your RB squad but with that being said, if you can land 3 solid/consistent RB's, you'll be miles ahead of the rest. SO MANY WR's in the league that produce, you typically can get by on drafting those whenever

This is how I feel. And keep in mind, the league is never won on draft night alone...

Sure, but not always the case. I couldn't make a draft last year and had the commish pick for me. It wasn't good. Pretty sure I played a total of 2 guys from that draft in the super bowl and I won that pretty handily.

My ideal strategy would be to get a top 3 pick, get a WR. then go RB, RB, WR, QB, TE and then on from there. But my plans never pan out so its best not to even have one
