I don't know....

Sea Bass did kick four FGs yesterday, two of which over 50 yds and another for 40. Scored 21 points in my league.

Wait, 87-21= SARCASM IS THE TITS!
Congrats on winning...... like I did!

I kinda panicked a bit when i found out Andre Johnson wasn't playing, but having the depth to bench Johnson and play Brandon Marshall is a luxury...

QB - Matt Schaub - 33 pts
RB - Arian Foster - 42.50 pts
RB - Steven Jackson - 39.70 pts
WR - Brandon Marshall - 20.20 pts
WR - Jacoby Ford - 28.90 pts
WR - Devin Hester - 21.60 pts
TE - Vernon Davis - 10.00 pts
K - David Akers - (TUES)
D - New England - 43.00 pts

238.90 total
(with D. Akers still to play)

14 team league
Top scorer in the league.
top scorer each week of the playoffs except for round 2)

you people can have your Micheal Vick, i'll take my Arian Foster.

I'm sorry, but this scoring system is freaking crazy.

we've been doing this league for 11 years now.
we've tweaked the scoring system many times and it seems crazy, but its actually pretty basic.

1 point for receptions and rushing attempts.
1 point for every 10 yards rushing/receiving
1 point for every 20 yards passing
6 points for touchdowns
points for return yardage (Jacoby Ford and Devin Hester are gods in this league)
...if you can find a receiver who catches a few passes and puts up some return yardage, you have yourself a starter...

defenses get 1 point for sacks, 3 points for interceptions, fumble recoveries, 6 for touchdowns, 2 for safeties, and points on how much points they give up.
Average defense scores about 16-20 points a game.

i have 43 from New England's defense bc they forced 7 turnovers, had a couple sacks, and held the Bills to only 3 points.

The score system has worked out very well and has led to very competitive seasons, with this being the best. There really isn't anything outrageous with the system, it's distributed evenly and has kept things fair.

Ridiculous is scoring systems that give bonuses for return yards or passing yards

Edited for double negative

i'm in two leagues.

the one i explained above

and a random league on Yahoo.

the random league's scoring system was severely jacked up. I quit before the season even started. After the draft, i was looking through the free agents and noticed that with last year's stats, Jamarcus Russell and every other QB that played any significant time outscored every single running back in the league... including CJ, MJD, Ray Rice, etc.

if your QB would throw for 5 yards, you'd get a 150 point bonus or some bullshite like that.
...while all other positions had normal scoring values.
