Let's say you draft a combination of three WR1s for about 60% of your cap. Would that be a solid cornerstone for you lineup since there's value RB later in drafts? ($100 cap)

Example: Value prices are just estimates
Dez/DT88/Green ($23,$21,$16=$60)
Brown/Nelson/Calvin ($23,$20,$17=$60)
DT88/Julio/Green ($21,$20,$16=$57)

You're looking at a mid-tier RB as your RB1 like a Mark Ingram, Morris, Miller or Gore for another 12-14% ($12-14) of your cap. Then you add guys like Martin, Ivory, J Bell and Jennings for $1-3 as your RB2).

Find a sleeper QB like a Flacco, Palmer, or Bradford would make that a legitimate roster.

Not too knowledgeable on auctions, but I'm not against the WR/WR/WR strategy if you aren't overpayng and can start all 3.

Your top RBs are going to go for $30-28 while Brown and Dez will be $24-22. This of course is stardard, non-ppr 6 pt TDs. Just an idea I thinking about this season. Usually I'm going WR1/WR1/RB1 for 60-63% of my cap. Gives you a solid core and enough to get you a decent flex option.

If you are drafting with anyone that's paying attention, they will bid you out of that tier of RBs and leave you the scraps.

Also, those WR1s typically go for around 50 bucks in $200 budget leagues. So 70-75% if a budget

prob wouldn't do it, you're bench would suck and there are always great bargains at the end of the draft for people with money left. Those are the teams that generally win.

of course if this is an 8 or 10tm league, ignore my advice.

It all depends in the league you're in. The most I've seen a WR go was Calvin Johnson $24 ($100 cap) which would $48 in a $200.

The thing is you just need 1 of those RB2s and usually when those RBs are going off the board ppl start becoming tighter with there $.

For example, Morris and Murray were the only two RBs in their tier left and we got outbid for Morris $19, but ended up with Murray for $19 a couple picks later. Just depends.

No way in hell would you be able to get three WR1s in a PPR league.

Here's what Id like to see you do this season. Take more time learning the players rather than dreaming up some strategy for an auction league. Strategies never work, so you are going to need to learn how to adjust on the fly this season.

Don't worry about me knowing the players, I'll have a fantasy podcast out in 2 weeks or so for you to listen to. I hope you enjoy it.

With about 6-8 solid WRs to choose from it shouldn't be to hard to mix and match your way in the draft. And of course if you land a RB before than yes it's time to adjust. That's never been a problem in the past.

The thing I hate about loading up on either wideout or running back is you basically take finding a waiver stud out of the equation for the rest of your year at that position. I like to leave one spot relatively open in case I can jump on someone in auction waivers. Everyone is always left with a ton of money in my auction waivers, so I'm aggressive at targeting guys immediately.

Then again I suck.

I agree, there's usually a ton of waiver WRs that pop up throughout the season compared to 2-3 at RB. Anderson and Forsett come to mind.

Last year was my first auction draft($200) and I went WR/WR/WR:

A.J. Green, Cin WR $47
Dez Bryant, Dal WR $50
Antonio Brown, Pit WR $44

RBs were:
Frank Gore, SF RB $23
Fred Jackson, Buf RB $6
Darren Sproles, Phi RB $3
Knowshon Moreno, Mia RB $2
Ahmad Bradshaw, Ind RB $1
Devonta Freeman, Atl RB $1
Carlos Hyde, SF RB $2

I went 9-4 and lost in the finals.

AJ wasn't AJ and you prob didn't finish the year with those RB and make the finals

You can win with any draft if you're on things during the season

I forget...haha

I'm pumped to try my new K/DST/TE strategy this year. Only the best for me this time around; I spare no expense!
