Thoughts on an 8 team league

So, a buddy asked me to join a "big money" 8 team league. My first thought was no way, but then I started breaking it down.
Cons:
1) It's an 8 team league. I like 12 plus teams. My FFB strength is drafting, not managing, so the more teams the better.
2) I don't like playing in more than 2 leagues. Too many players going against each other.
3) Never played in an 8 man league.
Pros:
1) I think I'd be one of the better players in the league, so I'd have a good chance to win some cash.
2) I've already drafted in my other two leagues, so it would keep my fantasy interest high before the season starts.
So, anybody play in and like 8 man leagues? Any advice/strategy for 8 man leagues?

they're pretty much a total crapshoot because every team is loaded, so even the shittiest of owners has a chance

In my 10 team every team is loaded and there is a log jam in the standings.

I'm in an eight man league for the first time this year. It's PPR and 6pt QB TD's with yardage bonuses. I plan on grabbing 3 WR's and a QB with the first 4 picks.
