You don't need to make any moves; you have VMart.

I had to go back and look what our deal with tulo was

I sent:
2nd
Tulo

You sent:
Bruce
Tanaka
Holland

I flipped Tanaka for Wheeler and Holland in a package for a 4th

Ended up with

Bruce
Wheeler
4th

meh

Had I known that vmart would have had surgery this offseason, I never make the trade for tulo.

Good news is that they say vmart will only be out 4-6 weeks now instead of 12. Just don't know how much power he'll have with a repaired knee.

I prefer Bruce to Tulo at this point in time. Tulo needs to prove me wrong for me to buy back into him. I like Bruce to bounce back and he's 3 years younger.

Tulo hasnt:

Hit 30+ HR since 2011
Drove in 100+ since 2011
Scored 100+ since 2009
Played 150+ games since 2009

Factor in the whispers that he could be traded as soon as this season -- home vs road spilts are pretty significant. Still a good hitter and player, but he has been riding his name value for a few years a la Hanley Ramirez

What suggests to you that Bruce will bounce back?

I'd take 130 games of Tulo at SS over 160 of Bruce at OF.

That's kinda what I'm getting at. Tulo plus my bench SS > Bruce over the course of a season.

I hope you answer why you think he WONT bounce back

1. He was unlucky-- BABIP way down from career average

2. Which was a result of more ground balls (GB% was way off career average).

3. More GBs were especially a problem, especially w teams shifting on him

4. GB/FB ratio also way off career norm

5. iso down 60 points from career average

6. to a smaller extent - injuries

7. to an even smaller extent - no votto in the lineup for extended time

Im not even basing anything off of watching him play. His track record shows he isnt the hitter he was last season. Sure, he is flawed, but he's not that bad. Even if he goes 80/25/80, there are still only a handful of OFs that do that.

This doesnt mean anything, but I found it interesting

quote:

Paul Konerko and his age 27 season being a disaster, like Jay Bruce's. After hitting .304 with 27 home runs in 2002 as a 26-year-old, Konerko hit .234/.305/.399 with 18 homers in 2003.

Konerko, who is retiring this year, then hit 41 homers the next season in a bounce-back year and has had a great career from there.

As for Tulo, he's played 130 games 3 times in 8 season - 38%. This is where we bet who has the better season

And I'll give you all the reasons Bruce might not bounce back, when I get IRT. I had to take a shite just to get time to read your response.

Is 2015 the year McCain & Rouge are playing for entry fees?
