Let me just say as a former Hopkins owner, he was outstanding in fantasy last year.

I just don't like his supporting cast and am cautious it could cut back on his TDs. Not to mention I'm not very big on Osweiler throwing him the ball.

Obviously Dez is coming off an ankle injury, but it should be a minor setback. I feel when healthy he can be considerably more consistent than Nuk. I expect Dez to bounce back big time.

However Romo is made of porcelain and is almost a shoe-in to get injured again. When Romo is healthy throwing to Dez he is definitely one of the best in the game. With Romo out Dez is still good, but just not quite the same level.

Who to take at pick #4?

I've considered Gurley, but I'd rather draft WR in the first round since it's PPR with 3 WRs

And RB/WR/TE Flex?

Nuk would be my personal pick at #4.

Yeah.. 1 QB, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 TE, 1 Flex

I didn't watch Osweiler at all last season and I'm not sure how reliable he (and Romo for that matter) can be.

Did you watch the group of slap dicks the Texans rolled out? Brock has to be an improvement. I'd go nuke.

Hopkins and here's why. Dez is coming off of a foot injury that has been known to slow down athletes. Not only that, but when was the last time Romo played a full season? Also, reports from Dallas say that the backup QN (Dak) isnt doing good at all and some bum might be the backup. I think Dez does great in the beginning but tapers off.

Did you see the group of bums throwing to Hopkins last year? There's no way Brock can be worse than them.

FWIW, I just heard on local Houston radio that Hopkins told Osweiler (before the Texans signed him) that he was the only missing piece for the Texans. Early signs are that Hopkins is thrilled to finally have a QB.

They also drafted Fuller to stretch the field so that could (in theory) reduce the number of double teams on Hopkins.

Brock Osweiler is 21 of 49 (42.8%) on his passes targeted beyond 9 yards down field.

The 6.5 yards per attempt he's averaging would ranks 31st in the league among qualified passers

he's completing just 46 percent of his passes inside the red zone.

Since Osweiler took over starting job in Week 11, Denver has NFL's most 3-and-outs (18)

quote:

he's certainly isn't making life for his offensive line easier by holding the ball for an average of 2.68 seconds, the 24th-fastest time among NFL quarterbacks according to Pro Football Focus.

Keep in mind this guy was playing on a SB winner, with weapons to throw to like Demayrius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders (he all but killed their fantasy value)

As we stand now, Osweiler is the antithesis of what a guy like Hopkins needs. BO is going to have to improve exponentially in order to get Hopkins the ball consistently downfield.

Dez and Romo have only finished one game together since beginning of last year. No backups in Dallas either.

At least with Hopkins, he's already produced with bad talent around him yearly.

But I'd take neither at 4

I was speaking to comments from Hopkins, not very limited stats in a handful of games.

Not sure if you are saying that the 4 QBs from last year for the Texans are similar to having a clear starting QB?

I sort of root for the Texans but don't consider myself a 'fan'. It does seem like they are going to have a much better offense than Hopkins has ever had in his professional career.
