A few people in my league have talked about picking a coach as a roster spot. Start at 10 points; points are added by point increments (+1 for win by 0-3, +2 for win by 4-7, and same but opposite numbers for losses. Anybody else have this in their league?

No, none of my leagues use that.

It sounds awful.

I think we are at the point in fantasy sports where people love to try new things to be different. Those new ideas are often terrible. Most of the time, simpler is better.

None of my leagues have ever done this. But I have a buddy whose league had a roster spot for a coach. I think you got point for a win and nothing for a loss.

One thing they did that I think would help make this a little more palatable. When the coach had a bye week, his win or loss from the prior week counted again. Not sure if you could switch coaches if you had a loss before the bye week.

That's basically what's going on here. After seasons of the same rules, they're wanting something to shake things up.

Bring up instituting an extra WR slot or a super flex position. Those will change things up and add a new element of skill.
