Bad luck can strike anytime.

No. It protects you from drafting a player that isn't going to start the season when you could've waited.
Like Gyno said, draft week 10 then.
The logic is so flawed I don't think I'll continue in this thread. Can't argue dumb.
quote:To whom? You? Me? Another owner? This blanket statement reinforces my thought.
There is zero advantage to drafting now.

Good Lord, this isn't that difficult. Let's say OBJ broke his ankle or tore an ACL like Jordy did a couple years ago. The people that already drafted the injured player that is out for a significant time are fricked. If you wait until the weekend before the draft you won't draft a player that is ALREADY hurt. Of course anyone can get hurt week 1. But, if OBJ is out for the year and you knew that, would you draft him? Of course not.
It protects you from having this reaction ...

wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
just took him in the first in two drafts....

You do realize that most starters don't play much if at all after Week 3 right?

Of course I do, but they still practice. I believe in minimizing risk going into the season. Obviously people are going to have other opinions and that's fine, there's never going to be one way of doing things that everyone agrees with.

Seriously? That logic makes perfect sense. If you have your draft as late as possible, then there is less of a chance of drafting a player who gets injured before the season even starts. Is your brain broken?

Got this alert from Bleacher Report when I got up this morning.

According to ESPN.com's Dan Graziano and Jordan Raanan, Beckham "could potentially" miss the Sept. 10 clash at AT&T Stadium.

One source told Graziano and Raanan it's "not out of the question he could miss a week or two of the regular season."

Damn. Oh well though, you still have to take him first round.

Yes, but not sure he's top 5 overall anymore. Have to wait for more updates as the season gets closer.
