I think if this were true, it would be all over sports center. It isnt.

I'm extremely confused with this whole situation.
Someone tell me what the chances are Zeke plays the next 6 weeks?

Per @SportsLawGuy, Zeke Elliott expedited appeals timeline should be similar to Brady — arguments in Sept, hearing in Jan, decision in Apr.

Man Schefter is too popular a name to just throw shite out like that without fact checking

Chris Mortensen just reported on Sports Center that the NFL just filed for the Stay and that the legal experts expect that Elliott will be able to play all 16 games.

Man that is nuts if he gets to play all year! That had to have played a big part in most drafts this year as I'm sure he didn't go number 2 or 3 overall like he would have without this hanging over his head!

Couldn't have a star player suspended for the first Sunday night primetime game on national television

I hope so, my other RB is DJ... This would be too big a gut punch.

Adam Schefter This just in: “On this date, the Court considered Respondents’ Emergency Motion to stay injunction pending appeal. After considering the arguments, the Court finds the Motion should be GRANTED. The Preliminary Injunction entered on Sept. 8, 2017 is hereby STAYED, pending Respondents’ appeal.”
Guys, courts typically don't rule on things the same day they are filed, much less in 3-4 hours.
From PFT:
quote:
The NFL filed an appeal of the preliminary injunction blocking Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott‘s six-game suspension on Monday and that won’t be their only legal maneuver.
A league source tells PFT that the league will also request an expedited appeal from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, although there’s no way to know if that will make a significant difference in how quickly the case is heard. The average time from notice of appeal to decision in the Fifth Circuit averages over eight months and an expedited appeal in the Tom Brady case still took sixth months.

From my MSB post:
have just checked the Eastern District and Fifth Circuit PACER websites for the underlying case and the appeal.
At 12:30 p.m. on 09/11/17
The NFL filed an appeal to the 5th Circuit.
The NFL asked the original judge--Judge Mazzant--to stay the preliminary injunction, which is the order that stopped the suspension.
Judge Mazzant has not ruled on that request.
The NFL has not asked the 5th Circuit for a stay of the preliminary injunction yet, but that is possible if Mazzant denies it.

Just to add to the story, NFL Live just started and Zeke's name isn't even on the rundown. Obviously, there's really no news here.
