Currently and for the past 8 years we have had no waivers, and its been add/drop as you wish...this makes it really really competitive and guys are constantly on their toes to pick up someone on sundays or Mondays when games occur if they need to....some of the league wants to go to the regular waiver wire system that's boring and bland, but I don't want out league to fall into the "just another league" category...

Any ideas to make it fun without going to the regular waiver wire system?..

as in you can add guys on sundays once their games have started? So if say, player X goes down in game its a mad dash to go pick up the back up? That's lame.

yep that's been how we run things, its lame, but also makes you stay on your toes and keeps things tense instead of just relaxing until Tuesday morning for the regular waiver wire day..

We have a bidding system, and it is heads ands shoulders above the standard waiver wire process.

We start off the year with $200 (not real money)and each week the highest bidder get the player. Once your money spend all your wire money, it's gone. You can bid $0 and get a player if no one else bids on them.

I love this method. It prevents the person that starts 0-3 from getting the best players available those first 3 weeks. It also adds a little strategy to the season, managing your money for those 3 or 4 big FA that come up throughout the year.

We do this with real $$$. Adds to the payout at years end. Think we start with 300.

You have got to get rid of this system. I would not want to interrupt my game watching on Sunday to pick someone up. Fantasy football is secondary to watching football, not the other way around.

We have a waiver wire. Starts in the reverse order of the draft and you go to the bottom of the list when you have made a selection. Pickups cost $5--stops guys from going crazy with stupid roster moves. You can pick up a player and day Tuesday through Saturday. Pickups are processed by CBS at midnight or 2 a.m. or something like that. You put in who you want, and it assigns that player to you if you're at the first one on the waiver wire priority list to ask for that player.

There is some strategy. I heard guys not jump in the race for a player who has a good week one and say that they want to move up the list to nab a player who has a good week two. Plus, if you pick up too many players, you're spending money and it can add up over the season because we also charge $5 a week for a loss.

Yeah that's bullshite. So I'm just SOL if one of my guys goes down and I'm at a Saints game? Players shouldn't be rewarded for sitting by their computers waiting for an injury.
