Go to 37 second mark. Play was ruled an incomplete pass, with a rare offensive face mask call against Kap. But it appears Carolina was awarded a sack?? Carolina D credited with 6 sacks for the game, but this video makes it look like there was only 5. Hoping there's a stat correction because I lost by .8 playing against Carolina D

The refs must have called the play dead before he threw the ball. Sack with a declined penalty.

There was another play in the game when Kaep appeared to be sacked and the announcers called it a sack, but the stat was no sack, just tackled for a loss. I guess he was running towards the line of scrimmage, but if he doesn't make it, isn't it a sack? I say this because I think Carolina deserved one more sack, not one less.

We're using thebiglead.com for stats and information now?

Both ESPN and NFL play-by-play say sack with decline penalty. Panthers wouldn't have declined the penalty if it were an incomplete pass.
