Is Russell Wilson really the 3rd best fantasy QB in 2015?

According to ESPN's rankings he is. I'm not sure if I'm buying it.

Wasnt Russell 3rd last year?

And he's got a blocking TE this year.

I'm deciding on my keepers right now. I'm thinking of letting Brees go and drafting a QB and I've been researching QB rankings, really surprised me to see Wilson so high.

Just looking at a few of my leagues from last year. Russell was 3 in at least 2 of them. I think he will be up there again.

In the league I'm researching he was 6th because it values touchdowns more than rushing yards, maybe that's why I'm surprised.

if it highly values QB TDs i would like to have brees. He is nearly guaranteed a TD every game

Possibly. I had him last year and he killed. Those rushing yards add up. He also has Graham to throw to this year. After Luck, I would say Rogers then it's a toss up between Wilson and Big Ben.
Side note, I think Bridgewater could be a solid pick. He seems to be listed pretty low, but I like him.

Year in and year out, it always shocks me how low both Tony Romo and Ben Roethlisberger go. The two of them have helped win me championships the last couple of years.

Romo went pretty high in my league this year

According to SI and Fantasy Pros as well. Too many rankings go by popularity and not fantasy points. He won't finish top 5 in points. Maybe round out as top 10 if lucky. He doesn't throw enough and isn't consistent enough as a rusher to be my #1 QB.
My league is 6 per TD though.
Give me Brees, Manning, Brady, Romo, and Big Ben over him.

Those type of ignorant comments about Wilson are what has lead me to back to back titles. He's one of the most consistent fantasy QB out there currently. Wilson is legit top 5 fantasy QB. The guy rushed for over 800 yards last year and nearly threw for 3500 yards with 26 total TDs. In 2013 he had over 500 yards rushing and over 3300 passing yards with 27 total TDs. He may not get you 40 a week (which he did twice last year and another high 30, at least in my leagues with 6 per pass TD), but sure as hell won't get you 4 or 5.
He's consistently right about 20 every week in leagues with 6 points for passing TDs, and not many QBs can say that because most are very up and down. I don't know about you I like to know what I'm going to get out of my guy every week.
I probably won't get him this year because hes not that valuable to me as first few rounds pick, but as 6-8 round pick he was excellent the last few years.
BTW those titles came in leagues with 6 points per passing TD, by going to get him I was able to stack up at other positions and wait at QB instead wasting high pick on QB.

It's not unrealistic to look at Russell as a top fantasy quarterback (after Rodgers and Luck). He rarely turns the ball over and he is a very smart runner. Those rushing yards add up. It doesn't hurt that they just added Jimmy Graham to the mix.

Seriously, that guy has no clue what he's talking about. I'd have Wilson at 5th, but wouldn't be surprised to see him top 3 with his rushing totals mixed in.
Luck/Rodgers are the top tier
Brees/Manning/Wilson would be the next group
Romo/Big Ben/Matt Ryan/Tannehill/Brady
Rivers/Stafford/Newton

This is pretty accurate, thoghi would draft every "Teir 3 QB" before Brees
Wilson has the running game going for him. he might not be that great of passer but his legs make up for it. He went in the 3rd round in my 12 man league

Brees was top 5 in fantasy last season, and is top 5 every year. That would be a huge mistake. He isn't worth a pick in the first 5 rounds IMO, but he should be picked anywhere after that, especially in leagues that favor the QB.
